This is how he defines himself: a “papino” (daddy in Italian) to three daughters, tenacious, Mediterranean, empathetic, and always seeking new knowledge.
Federico was destined to be a doctor; it runs in his veins. His father, uncles, grandparents, and even great-grandfather were all physicians. His wife is also a doctor. Medicine is deeply embedded in his DNA. Many in his family were military doctors, which perhaps explains his discipline, rigour, meticulousness, and attention to detail—qualities he applies when analysing and addressing each patient’s case.
Why a gynaecologist?
His life has always revolved around women. From his “nonna,” he learned to value their strength, courage, and capacity to create life. From his three marvellous daughters, he drew the emotional and passionate joy of helping to create life and watching it grow.
His greatest reward:
“Seeing the radiant faces of mothers and fathers holding their babies for the first time. In some way, it’s my way of giving back a little of what women have given me.”
Federico assists international patients, overseeing the donation programme with tireless dedication to find the best options and the ideal match between recipients and donors. He is also a specialist in genetic counselling—a field that blends his passion for historical analysis with genetics.
